Designed by co‘21 senior Keiana Goon, class of 2021’s t-shirt contest winning design gives off a punchy, classic American high-school throwback vibe with a fun, Cuphead-esque twist.
Goon isn’t a stranger to the art world. Easily boasting over a thousand followers on her Instagram art account @Keiwiii_, Goon rakes in hundreds of likes with every post.
“[I wanted] to make it something I would actually wear,” she answers in regard to the thought process behind her design. “Something cool, I guess.”
And cool it is, from the stylized jersey-feel of the title WOLVES, along with the clever 3-slashes in the name to indicate the E, to the looming ‘Big Bad Wolf’ vs. video-game protagonist representation of the ‘21 class. Even the text boxes are cute, with their vintage, 1940s announcer-like style. Goon chose to stick with the traditional black and gold theme of ACHS, but also opted for the visual pop of a bright, carmine red.
“I wanted [the design] to be different from anything they’ve ever seen - not just some wolf clipart on a t-shirt that says ‘ACHS’,” the artist says. “I wanted the class to see that this was something that had time and effort behind a creative idea. Infusing my passion for creating comics and fun art was another aspect I wanted to show.”
The t-shirt’s design will also feature the cartoony characterization of the class of 2021 on the back.
